I have a Toshiba 50hm66 50″. I use an over the air antenna to get networks CBS, NBC, ABC , FOX and even PAX. All the channels have great HD signal and picture. Only CBS has no sound. When using my dish receiver I also get great picture and sound. The only issue has to do with CBS HD sound. I have contacted the local CBS affiliate and they say the signal is fine. Any ideas?

Why is it that I do not get HD programming on CBS (NFL games) and DirectTV says it’s the local affiliate (WIVB channel 4) that does not boradcast in HD, while the local affiliate says it DirectTV that is the problem? I just want my football games to be in HD and that is essentially the only channel that doesn’t carry HD programming, who do I believe? I do know that Time Warner customers have HD CBS, why doesn’t DTV? And No, im not switching to Time Warner, cable is crap.

First, when Conan O’brien was named host of “The Tonight Show”, Jay Leno should have been retired. The attempt to give him a prime time talk show lost he network and its affiliates millions of dollars of money. And Jay Leno would have STILL been left on had not the local affiliates threatened mutiny over low ratings for their late night newscasts that followed Leno and were weakened due to the low lead-in ratings. And putting Leno in prime time lost NBC the time slot where their high-quality dramas that have raised television to heights never seen before have aired, shows like “Hill Street Blues”, “L. A. Law,” “St. Elsewhere,” and “E. R. “. Then, instead of canceling Leno outright, Zucker moved his show back to 10:35 P. M. CST. This madse Conan O’brien so mad he quit the network. His show HAS been low-rated, but it would have found an audience eventually, just as his old “Late Night” show did. Now NBC will have an aging Jay Leno back as host of “The Tonight Show” and will be faced with the possibility of having Conan on opposite “The Tonight Show” on FOX, thus weakening their ratings. On top of all this , Zucker canceled “My Name Is Earl,” one of the most clever, enjoyable comedies that’s ever aired. He’s almost singlehandedly wrecked NBC, and it will take them years to recover their reputation and all the money they’ve lost. The only good thing he did this year was the excellent new sitcom “Community. ”
